Students walk out of schools in protest of gun violence

Days after no less than 19 elementary faculty students and two lecturers had been killed in a mass capturing at an elementary college in Uvalde, Texas, college students at schools around the country staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

In Michigan, students at Oxford Excessive College, where a college capturing occurred in November, staged a walkout at 12 p.m. on Thursday. 4 students were killed within the taking pictures.

The 17 year-old says her college's administration was in support of the walkout and she or he hopes the over 200 planned demonstrations throughout the nation ship a clear message that students are a "united front."

A walkout could not necessarily change legislation, Janoff mentioned, but these actions show "students are nonetheless united in this."

She stated that although most college students aren't old enough to vote, they still need to see change and are willing to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"College students do not have to be quiet about it simply because they seem to be a kid," Janoff mentioned.
