"You see information daily about children getting shot and folks your age dying and it is just incredibly sad and unbelievable, especially to see like youngsters youthful and youngsters my age," Janoff advised ABC News. "I cant think about that being me; but it is possible as a result of it occurs so usually."

The 17 year-old says her school's administration was in support of the walkout and she hopes the over 200 deliberate demonstrations throughout the nation send a clear message that students are a "united entrance."

A walkout may not essentially change legislation, Janoff stated, but these actions show "college students are still united on this."

She mentioned that though most college students aren't old enough to vote, they nonetheless want to see change and are willing to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"College students do not need to be quiet about it simply because they're a kid," Janoff stated.
