Teen arrested after mother observed son had gun at Texas college drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Gray Information) - Several companies responded to a middle school in Texas Friday morning after a teenager’s mom noticed he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock inform KCBD a mother was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Middle Faculty round 9 a.m. when she seen the firearm. The teenager by no means made it inside the building, and he ran from the college.
The Lubbock Police Division responded to the area along with several different agencies in an attempt to find him.
The teen was found near the college’s campus and brought into custody.
Authorities stated the 15-year-old may very well be dealing with a felony weapons charge.
Police say there was no menace made to the school or anybody inside the school.
O.L. Slaton Center College was briefly positioned on lockout as a result of the incident.
