The scope of the DHS IG report was restricted to the one intelligence report in question.

Initially, the IG found, the DHS Intelligence and Evaluation Workplace had followed inner drafting and editing processes. The report was two pages in length and related to 1 "'present Democratic presidential candidate'" and to Russian activities to influence the presidential election. It advanced over time after receiving inside input, in accordance with the IG report.
