Supreme Court says wrongful death lawsuit against Dallas officers can go forward

DALLAS - The high court will allow a wrongful death lawsuit to proceed towards the town of Dallas and 4 cops.

The household of a person who died in police custody in 2016 sued.

Tony Timpa referred to as police for assist as he had a drug and psychological well being crisis.

Town fought against releasing physique camera video and whit it did come out it was apparent why. It showed the officers mocking the dying man.

The town of Dallas argued the officers are legally protected from lawsuits.

The Supreme Court docket upheld a federal appeals courtroom’s ruling that can permit the case to proceed.

"The choice means that the case can proceed to trial and that there shall be no more delays from any appellate court. Those are the states lined by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling permitting the swimsuit to proceed.
