Nashville Public Library launches ‘Freedom to Learn’ marketing campaign

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — It is a topic that is taken maintain in Tennessee: books like "Maus" or "Stroll Two Moons" have been pulled from cabinets.

While these books is perhaps banned from some faculties, there may be still some place else you could find them.

"Our job is simply to make sure that if you want it, it is right here for you," said Public Information Officer for the Nashville Public Library, Ed Brown.

"'Maus' is all checked out right now," stated Brown. "So we acquired extra copies on order however as soon as word received round about what occurred in McMinn County, we bought plenty of holds."

These are just a few of the two million other supplies at the Nashville Public Library.

"Lots of people don't need to learn these books; they do not want their children to need to learn these books, or pressured to read these books, and that is fine," stated Brown. The objective is to get the 5,000 library cards within the arms of new sign-ups this month.
