Drunk driver crashes, heads straight to dealership to try to promote broken car with missing tire

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Police say they arrested a driver who was 3.5 times the authorized alcohol limit after no less than five people known as 911.

Officers say the calls started coming in around 4:40 p.m. Monday.

They say witnesses reported seeing a SUV hit the median of the Lloyd Expressway close to the Main Street exit. They are saying the crash triggered a flat tire and the car to smoke, but the driver stored going.

Different callers say the driving force was all over the highway and now lacking a front tire.

They say he ultimately stopped at a car dealership and appeared “super drunk.”

Employees advised police the driving force, 30-year-old Jordon Mattingly, was trying to sell his SUV.

Police say he had swelling and scratches as if he had simply been in a crash.

They are saying Mattingly smelled of alcohol and virtually fell a number of occasions. Officers say he tested .291 on a portable breath take a look at.

Police say inside his SUV, they discovered 4 Loko cans and a can of White Claw.

Mattingly is dealing with several prices.

He is the son of the supervisor for the Miami Marlins and former professional baseball participant, Don Mattingly.
