A girl visiting Yellowstone National Park was gored by a bison and tossed into the air, park officials said Tuesday.
The 25-year-old woman, who was visiting from Ohio, was not recognized in a news release from the park.
The girl approached the feminine bison Monday morning after it got here close to a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, close to Outdated Devoted geyser, the park stated.

An estimated 2,300 to 5,500 bison stay at the park, and they have injured more folks than every other animal, the park stated.
When the visitor came inside 10 ft of the animal, the bison impaled her and "tossed" her 10 ft in the air, the park mentioned.
The girl had puncture wounds and other injuries and was taken to a hospital in Idaho, the service said. Her situation was unknown Tuesday.
Two other individuals were also close to the animal when it gored the woman, the park stated. The discharge didn’t say if they were injured.
The park warned folks to remain 25 yards from bison, elk, bighorn sheep and moose and at least 100 yards from bears and wolves.
CORRECTION (June 1, 2022, 12:07 p.m. ET) A previous model of this article misstated the severity of the girl’s accidents. She was gored by a bison and suffered puncture wounds. She was not killed.
