Apple has discontinued the iPod, 20 years after it was released.
The US tech big said its iconic music player has been replaced by different gadgets, making the iPod redundant.
Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide marketing, stated: "At the moment, the spirit of iPod lives on.
"We've built-in an unbelievable music experience throughout all of our products, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and throughout Mac, iPad, and Apple TV.
"And Apple Music delivers industry-leading sound quality with help for spatial audio - there is no higher way to enjoy, uncover, and expertise music."
In October 2001, Steve Jobs debuted the original iPod and it was the first MP3 player that would hold 1,000 songs and had a 10-hour battery life.
"With iPod, Apple has invented an entire new category of digital music player that lets you put your whole music assortment in your pocket and hearken to it wherever you go," he stated at the time.
"With iPod, listening to music will never be the same once more."
Similar MP3 gamers launched by Microsoft and Sony didn't have the same success because the iPod.
Apple has released 5 variations of its music participant - the Traditional, Touch, Shuffle, Mini and Nano.
The company has been slowly killing its iPod vary lately, with mobile phone technology enabling customers to take heed to music providers on their phones.
In 2014, the basic click on wheel mannequin was discontinued, and the Shuffle and Nano were killed off three years later.
The seventh-generation iPod touch was the only mannequin still on sale in the present day.
