Apple has discontinued the iPod, 20 years after it was launched.
The US tech big stated its iconic music participant has been replaced by other gadgets, making the iPod redundant.
Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide advertising and marketing, stated: "Right this moment, the spirit of iPod lives on.
"We have integrated an unimaginable music experience across all of our products, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and throughout Mac, iPad, and Apple TV.
"And Apple Music delivers industry-leading sound quality with help for spatial audio - there is not any better way to take pleasure in, uncover, and expertise music."
In October 2001, Steve Jobs debuted the original iPod and it was the primary MP3 player that could hold 1,000 songs and had a 10-hour battery life.
"With iPod, Apple has invented a whole new category of digital music participant that permits you to put your total music collection in your pocket and hearken to it wherever you go," he stated on the time.
"With iPod, listening to music will never be the identical again."
Comparable MP3 gamers released by Microsoft and Sony didn't have the same success as the iPod.
Apple has released 5 versions of its music participant - the Classic, Contact, Shuffle, Mini and Nano.
The company has been slowly killing its iPod vary lately, with cell phone technology enabling clients to hearken to music services on their phones.
In 2014, the traditional click wheel model was discontinued, and the Shuffle and Nano have been killed off three years later.
